Food ad on xbox home screen Legit?

I haven't seen a non-gaming ad on my console in years. What type of ads are you on about?

There's one for the new Planet of the Apes movie on the Home section of the 360 Dashboard, which isn't about gaming. Nothing on the Home section of Xbox One dash though.

In fairness though I do occasionally see food and drink ads show up on the 360 home screen but I don't recall the last time I saw something on the One.

This has been an issue since the release of the xbox one and possibly the xbox 360 (never had one) but it seems absurd that we pay almost £/$300 for an xbox and get ADS on the home screen. Dispicicible. It only bothered me recently since I saw an an advert
for Subway on my home screen. It would make sense advertising something like xbox live, (still immoral to shove any ads in the face of a customer that played £300) but a food brand?!? Someone must agree this is outrageous.

In an ideal world these would be removed but this is Microsoft so I'm just raising awareness.

I rather get angry about something that really affects me.

On your Home screen, does it still give you the message "Connect to Xbox Live" even though you are connected to a network? If this is the case, sign out of your profile, and sign back in.

The new dash has sponsored ads on it but it's one small tile & game related anyway.

You barely notice it.

I suppose if you just sit there looking at your dash for some odd reason it might bother you but who does that?

If you think Xbox dashboard ads if you have a Gold subscription are bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. There are lots of services which have far worse ads! At least it doesn't have pop ups which take up 100% of your screen or automatically pop up and played
videos. Or ads showing up from dodgy sources.
