    Hi,

    Currently, I'm having a problem with the Xbox app as it appears to create additional folders on the drive which I select to install my games on. It will mess up all my folder structure. I can't remove them even if it means installing the whole Xbox app they are there even when I format the disc the only way to get rid of them is to delete the volume and create it again is it that hard to create a launcher that doesn't act like a virus on my system? steam did it long ago!!!!

    Xbox is a secure platform and creates a secure sector on your drive, everything is fine,

    These folders are required to use Xbox,on PC.

    these folders are part of the Xbox app and will be re-created.

    These files are protected from tampering. You can designate the drive-in folder you want to install do, but the drive still needs to be formatted NTFS with 4 kB clusters

    The folder created for Xbox Games and Windows Apps is specific to your Windows installation. So if you reinstall Windows, I'm afraid you need to delete the folders from the secondary drive, or format the drive entirely.

    Windows keeps creating folders from Xbox App

    because those are the default folders if you want to have Xbox games on your system. these are folders the games are looking for and will be created if you want to have Xbox games on this drive

    If you click change folder, you can assign a new one

    “i can`t download games in xbox game pass app and microsoft store . the problem code is 0x87E00017
    I've had this issue over the past few months, despite several clean Windows re-installs. It appeared to only occur when installing on certain hard drives (Particularly when large games could only be installed on to my large HDD).

    I've managed to fix it today by*:

    1. Assigning my user as owner of the "WindowsApps" folder on the root of the affected hard drive,
    2. Assigning my user with full access permissions to the "WindowsApps" folder only,
    3. Completely deleting the "WindowsApps" folder on the affected hard drive
    4. Deleting the Xbox game folder on the affected hard drive,
    5. Re-creating the Xbox game folder on the affected hard drive (Do not re-create the "WindowsApps" folder)
    * The steps above will require you to re-download your Xbox games on the specific hard drive!

    The Xbox app will automatically re-create the WindowsApps folder when you try to download the next game.

    After completing the above, I was able to download games as normal on that hard drive.

    I can only surmise that at some point in the past, something corrupted the permissions on the "WindowsApps" folder, as its contents on the affected HDD were dated a long time ago.
