Flight Simulator 2020 X-Box BETA (PC) [Insert Game Disk]?

If you’re inserting it, that tells me you bought the Windows disc version and live in Europe, or that you bought a copy of Flight Simulator X which is PC only. There is no Xbox disc release at this time.

No disc version of Flight Simulator will work on any Xbox

Glad to hear you're sorted. I've had similar success but a slower Internet speed. Downloading still, but all is well.

Apparently even Microsoft have finally acknowledged virus checkers and firewalls are causing problems.

The 990MB download is for the main launcher. It's how the game is installed. You run it and it opens up a game manager that then prompts you to install the game data etc. That's when it'll download the remaining 151GB.

Think of it as 2 installation systems for the game. It's frustrating and clearly broken for many.

It seems many are suffering and nobody from Microsoft is prepared to give us any information about why this is happening.

It sucks that you are having the same issue, but I'm relieved I'm not alone. I'll wait a day and see if there's been a fix before I contact support.

Ok, I was fishing around for clues and found something that just got me past that point where it was constantly asking for a disk.

Many reboots and re-installations, with admin account failed. But turning off my AV firewall allowed me to proceed past the issue. My guess is the license check wasn't getting past the FW. Probably worth a try.

I haven't completely installed yet, but it is now moving past the point of failure before and proceeding along.
