    Flight Sim 2020 stuck on mandatory update lost conection / service unrechable


    I have been trying for weeks to complete a mandatory update for flight sim 2020 but every time the update begins, after about 30 seconds it come up with a message saying 'lost connection' and then service unreachable'

    I am at my wits end. I have not been able to use flight sim 2020 for weeks now and searched online and found nothing helpful so far.

    Yes I see on forums the same issue but mostly they are saying the MS server is actually down, I can't believe it has been down for a weeks now.

    Do i really need to uninstall and reinstall the game?

    1. Check for known issues - Done

    2. Restart the game - Done

    3. Power cycle your machine - Done

    4. Test your network connection - Done no issues with any other software at all

    5. Try using a different profile. - Done

    6. Remove and re-add your profile - Done

    7. Clear the local save and resync with the cloud - Done

    8. Uninstall the game > Restart console > Install game. - It's a PC not console - Done

    Still not able to Play flight Sim 2020 for weeks now

    I logged on to a completely different Windows install and the issue followed me, same error

    lost connection then authentication service unreachable

    Okay I resolved the issue. I use a 4G router for my internet connection at home. I am able to use it just like any other internet connection.

    Everything else no issues. I am able to download games on Steam etc, watch streaming services etc, surf the internet etc.

    I searched and searched online where it was suggested I use a VPN and see if that helps. I have a VPN but knew that it would be a little slower than my usual connection for downloads.

    So instead I decided to test a DNS service, Cloudflare WARP, Open DNS, Google DNS etc.

    It fixed the problem immediately!!!!

    Not sure why this is but it worked.
