Flawed Reputation System

Hey All,

I was recently tagged with the "avoid me" reputation and can't find a game through matchmaking.

I completely understand why this has happened, and it is not what you think. For those who have played competitive overwatch, you may better understand my case.

This is my first season of competitive overwatch, and as of recently I especially enjoy playing certain characters that aren't considered "in the meta", specifically Hanzo and Bastion. Unfortunately, these characters are heavily frowned upon in the competitive
play, and although I usually perform well with them, I am usually blamed for losses, with other players rarely standing up for me. The blaming is exacerbated by playing with premade groups, especially when 4 to 5 players have grouped together, in which the
entire team will report at the end of a game.

I would like to disclaim that I rarely receive nasty messages, in which I NEVER reply, and so it did not occur to me that these reports would do anything since I did not do anything wrong.

I would also like to add that if I had played poorly during ANY of these games, I would immediately switch to a more "viable" pick, but would still be reported for "losing the team point A" despite having medals in objective time, eliminations, and damage
as Hanzo.

I hope that my reputation can be restored to a good standing. I have read that it has been done for other players who have been wrongly reported.

Flawed Reputation System

So basically anybody can file a "FALSE" complaint against anyone and impact their ability to find multiplayer games.

If they are not verified, how does this protect players that are not doing anything wrong?

i have been put on avoid me rep for no reason, you play with characters you like and if there not meta people give you bad rep, you beat them you get bad rep, i have had my account for 13 years paying a yearly gold membership and i think its a disgrace that
i cant play because immature people giving bad rep for no reason and i want something done about it

Enforcement won't really help with with the avoid me status. There will be no method to open a case review at that link.

There are 2 things you can do though.

1. Battlefield is a game that a lot of people who are in an avoid me state play. You could go there to try to get your status back to green.

2. Friends can invite you to their games so you can continue to play.

For both methods, so long as you play well and receive good ratings you'll be fine.
