    I found https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/xba_gapp/assassins-creed-pirates-crashing-on-win10/3538c5c9-ba34-4db2-87f3-cbf9dd7b71f3 which is an old thread that covered an issue I was also experiencing. I replied that I had the same problem and
    gave some extra details. I then figured out the solution and went to post that but found that the thread had been locked with instructions to create a new thread so, here we are...

    For completeness, here is the content of my previous post:

    Same here. Brand new install of Windows 10 Pro N, build 1903. (Pro N is like regular win 10 pro, except with less pre-installed stuff).

    The game shows a window with a logo for about half a second and then immediately closes. I tried resetting it, no change.

    This seems to be the case for a lot of games I have installed from the windows store. Almost every game I've purchased. The following games all crash immediately upon opening:

    • Assassin's Creed Pirates
    • Asphalt 7: Heat
    • Asphalt 8: Airborne
    • Balloons TD 5
    • Carcassonne
    • Defense Zone 2
    • Dinosaur Hunt Africa Contract
    • Halo Spartan Assault
    • Hydro Thunder Hurricane
    • Jetpack Joyride
    • Mini Motor
    • Reckless Racing
    • Riptide GP 2
    • Train Sim

    Things that do work from the windows store include:

    • Bing Daily Wallpaper
    • Minecraft
    Everything else on this computer (Steam, Firefox, Dolphin emulator, etc.) seems to be working properly. Clearly something in the windows store is boned, though.

    Thanks. Xbox ambassadors never crossed my mind, although when I tried to learn a little bit more about it I ended up on this page: https://ambassadors.microsoft.com/xbox/access?removed=true which says:

    As far as I know, I was never a member in the first place. Amusingly, if I change ?removed=true to ?removed=false in the url, it invites me to sign up. Then it tells me I don't meet the eligibility requirements ("Requirement: You must have at least 1,500
    Gamerscore was not met.") Oh well. I don't have that much time to game anyways.

    I just figured this one out because Firefox was much more helpful when I tried to watch Netflix, and then I got a hunch that it could have been the same problems with the Windows Store games. Microsoft should probably consider following Mozilla's lead there.
