FIX--Xbox for PC Opening Game Errors and Installing Gaming Services Error

I have never seen that error code before, but you can try the Update Assistant. I hope it works

READ ME- Second Edit: Finally, both issues were resolved! If you have the issue(s) below, try going to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and click "Update Now", either open the downloaded file at the bottom of your screen, or it should also be on your home screen with the title "Windows 10 Update Assistant". Open it and click Update Now. It takes a few minutes to do so, but once that's done, it will ask you to restart your computer to complete the updates. It will look different than a normal restart. When the computer starts back up, there will be an introduction screen that says "Hi. We have some updates for you." (or something along those lines). That, as well, takes around 10-ish minutes. You know it is done updating when your computer is showing the normal home screen. Don't worry, none of your files are gone/changed. Try reopening the Xbox app and launching a game. If you get the prompt at the top of the screen that needs you to install Gaming Services, click Install and that should work this time, without any errors. Once that's completed, reopen a game/download whatever game had an error and you should be good.

Error Explanation:

Opening any game via the xbox app on my PC either brings me to the Microsoft Store to download Gaming Services or an error that says "[game name] can’t open because it is offline. The storage device might be missing or disconnected." This just started today and I have tried many things to resolve it, but none seem to work. One time it prompted me to reinstall Halo: The Master Chief Collection, so I did. Installing any game starts downloading but stops at around 4%, and I'm given error 0x00000001. I have also tried reinstalling Gaming Services via the Microsoft Store AND from the xbox app, but that also gives me an error. Does anyone know how to fix this, or whether or not it's just an app outage?

Does this solve the issue when unable to install due to a 0x87 error?

Same error here, also not fixed after following all instructions you linked. What is it with these gamepass for PC games not installing correctly, ever? I've had the literal same exact error from trying to install VAMPYR before, all the way back at the
launch of gamepass for PC, and just now trying again, it still has this error. Fix your goddamn service already.

I was able to fix the 0x87e00196 error by myself. So I can install games from the PC Game Pass again.

Just had to reinstall the Gaming Services again...
