My boyfriend has been having this same issue. He's able to play other multi-player games and he's playing on console.

It appears that you are having issue playing the game in multiplayer mode. Let us check and see on what we can to help resolve your concern.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. Are you able to play other multiplayer games in your device?

2. Are you using the Xbox app to play the game?

3. Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

For the meantime we are going to check if your online safety and privacy settings to join across network play and access clubs are set to allowed and your Network Address Translation type of NAT type is not restricted. To check the following the settings, follow the steps below:

Log in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and sign in Microsoft account.

• In the navigation tabs, click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety
  
• Select Allow for You can create and join clubs, and You can join multiplayer games.
  
• Then click Submit.
  

If the account is managed by parent, the organizer must sign in the account and click on the profile of the child to make changes with the account.

Consequently, be sure to check the network address translation (NAT) type if it is not restricted. The NAT type must be open or moderated. To check for NAT type on all devices, see below:

• For Windows 10:
  
  • PC Settings > Gaming > Xbox Network and check the NAT Type.
    
  • Look for NAT Type and error message/code.
    
  • Please reply with any error message/code you notice.
    
• For Windows 11: Install Xbox Console Companion app from Microsoft Store (click here)
  
  • Launch Xbox Console Companion app.
    
  • Go to Settings and select Network tab.
    
  • Look for NAT Type and error message/code.
    
  • Please reply with any error message/code you notice.

Sorry, I didn't receive a notification and I also fixed the problem by factory resetting my PC.
