    Fix for Telstra 5G modems(sim)- open Nat and UPnP successful


    Hey guys,

    I have a fix for the new 5G modems gen 2 plus may help with other modems.

    After spending a day or two trying to get my Xbox from moderate NAT to Open and UPnP not successful to be fixed.

    This is the fix plus you don’t need to turn of IPv6.

    On your modem page find network-5G or where the PDP type is and change it to IPv4v6.

    Turn modem of and on and this should fix the issues plus it fixed my Ring door bell to connect to the modem .

    Is this related to being stuck behind a cone NAT cos that’s the issue I’m having and I haven’t found any way to fix it

    That's awesome. Thank you for letting me know it worked.

    I have updated my original post with a link to a Reddit post that shows the exact modem setting I was speaking of in case anyone else is faced the same issue, using that particular Telstra 5G modem.

    I would still like to know why IPv6 doesn't play well with Xbox through Telstra 5G but that's probably a question I need to ask Telstra.

    Strict NAT

    Through xbox tech support and Telstra (ISP) tech support it was determined that my gateway has a dual NAT issue and that it would need to be upgraded as even full-bridging would not work. Telstra are replacing my Thomson TG782T for the latest model gateway
    so that should fix my NAT issues as the old one was basically not compatible with the XB1. I will post back to let you know if it is successful.
