    Fix 4K HDR capture upload from PC


    Capture upload is a frustration. My capture quality 4K HDR to external USB. I use external USB because my primary game SSD is 500GB only.

    Ok. Capture several clips. Upload is not possible. Why?! You can downscaling realtime, but cannot do it offline?

    Ok. Suggestion is to upload from PC. Connected USB, copied clips to captures folder. Trimmed using Xbox Console Companion. Trying to upload. No. I need to reduce resolution and remove HDR. Why?! You are "disrupting 4K gaming" for us, so why this simple function doesn't work. You first introduced HDR years ago. It is your apps, your platform! Why?!

    Ok. Open Windows video editor. Converted to 1080p SDR. Trying to upload. Game is not recognized! "Unknown" shown in game name field. It appears it is taken from Title field of the file in file system.

    Ok. Changed the title field. Console Companion shows now correct name. Trying to upload - game is not recognized! Why you are making this so hard? Previously I could select the game from the list, waited for approval and done. Now is some kind of nonsense.

    Need QoL update. Fix it. For the sake "great 4K HDR disruption"!

    I use a capture card because of this and another problem I encountered is that if you capture 4k HDR videos on external when you upload them to Youtube only the 4k aspect of it uploads but not the HDR and the video ends up looking weird

    Hi,

    I think this could be a "soft" maximum for uploads that could come from the MS side. I think 20Mbit/s as upload is a good measure for upload, though. If you want to capture 4K HDR Surround and stream that, you should use a streaming device that captures
    from the HDMI port of your Xbox and has no limitations.

    While it will show in 4k via the console, when it is downloaded, it can only show what is supported by the device it is being ahown on, most phones do not suppoet 4k hdr. Aswell as it is waved to a cloud network, so whem shared it will auto adjust its resolution
    to make its its packet smaller. As of right now sadly xbox doesnt seem to support the 4k hdr share system.

    I have the xbox one x with a 4k tv it does take the 4k hdr pictures its just when they upload to my phone or twitter it looks like the sdr version and not 4k hdr
