Fitness Feedback June 2014

I'm assured by Microsoft that these forums are monitored for feedback and that we are to be patient in expecting fixes.

That said, here's an update on my issues since I last posted feedback.

For the last couple of weeks, the buffering was ok and although I noticed the quality drop now and then, it never paused or went back to the pause menu. Unfortunately my workout last night did have these experiences and for a while, I could only get 2 bars
on the connection and even then, it would not start the video back up - just paused for a few seconds with the rotating circle icon and then went back to the pause menu.

I had issues with things like tuck-jumps where the Kinect would lose me and just show a black, empty square where my image had been a second before unless I stopped the exercise and waved wildly at the camera. I bought one of those big rubber cardio mats
(6' x 6') and that made a difference. It didn't lose me at all on the jumps but still has the occasional issue when I am doing a floor exercise.

The feedback at the end of my workout is messed up. The heart rate (when it measures it which seems random) will come up and then show a comparison with my age-group but I only get like a half a second to read it before it disappears and the next screen
of info comes up (best exercise) which is also not on screen as long as it should be. Hopefully the developers can make this be something you click yourself to advance?

When I've finished my last few workouts, I have noticed I can look at the list of my exercises for the month ok but as soon as I try to open the second tab (achievements and awards), it just dumps me out to the XBox dashboard and restarting the app doesn't
make any difference.

Anyway, this is what I have for the developers supposedly trawling this forum. How about you?

Would you be interested in a racing game that utilized a heavily stylized artistic direction?

You've got a better chance submitting your issues to their Facebook Oage : Sumo Digital. They respond quickly and sometimes offer you a spot as an update tester.

I did do this and was messaged a couple of times by Sumo Digital who gathered a bit of info and then passed me off to a customer relations person at a company subcontracted by Microsoft. She started out asking me for specific feedback but then fell back
on standard, PR spin and said to continue posting feedback through the standard channels, including here.

 

PAFC, I've been having tracking issues as well... that's pretty much my biggest (and only) issue with this feature.

Let me just say that I love Xbox fitness and I think this is a great idea, the achievements/challenges really help push me and I think that's wonderful. But I've been having quite a few tracking issues, where the camera will just randomly lose me... I also
noticed that it seems certain workouts have more tracking issues than others, but I could be wrong. For instance, I did the Mossa Fight 2 workout, and I was throwing knees as hard and high as I possibly could (with more effort than the hosts), and my meter
was only in the yellow zone and it was telling me to put more effort in, and I found this strange...

Anyway, I love this, and obviously the videos alone are wonderful, but I do hope the tracking improves as this is what truly helps me stay motivated.

 

PS any users have any tips with this? PAFC, it seems the cardio mat helped, so are there any other tips?

it's interesting that you mention the mat, because I just realized that the carpet and paint in the room of my apartment is a beige/tan color, and I often work out in only shorts, so maybe the camera is confusing me with the room? who knows

any tips would be great

 

The mat has really helped. I would not say it is 100% as I've seen it miss the odd one now and then but it must be close to 95%.

Before I could predict that a particular exercise had 99% chance of the camera losing me which I can't do as easily now.

I've experimented with light in the room but it hasn't made much difference - the camera shouldn't be affected either way, with the different modes it sees in so I guess that makes sense.

What next? We all try fluorescent clothing? ;-)

 

Till today, I have problem that it pop out "Internet connection error" sporadically and IMO it can be resolve by simply locking the video to sub HD...

 

somebody should inform the dev team that if you start a workout and exit the workout before you're finished, stats should not be saved. A dialog box even pops up to say stats wont be saved, yet however I now have 2 workouts with 0 FP that dropped my average
FP down 30,000. nice move.

 

OK. My biggest issue with Xbox Fitness is the inability to purchase the entire Insanity or P90X programs! What is the point of having 2 of the P90X workouts with a kinect if you can't do the other workouts in the program?! I would totally purchase the whole
program if it was on Xbox Fitness. Why get someone interested in an interactive version of insanity just for them to buy the dvds that do not offer what xbox fitness does? I just don't get it.

 

Seems there have been a few updates in the last few days and now it is possible to buy things, not sure how region free this is right now though but it does look very promising!

 

I can't find the option to buy more P90X stuff yet. Others found it but can't pay:

Today when I launched Xbox Fitness there was an update for the game. The P90X for Xbox Fitness workouts now appear in my library under Workout Programs.

Didn't buy them yet, but definitely will soon.

 

I am having problems using Xbox fitness on a wood laminate floor due to reflection. PAFC (or anyone else) can you provide a link or the name of the cardio mat you purchased assuming it worked ok for you. I found this one:
www.square36.com/.../square36-cardio but as it is black I am not sure if the reflection problem will be an issue?

Any advice/ tips are appreciated.
