    First Time XBOX 360


    Hi, I just got xbox 360 with 250GB, and it came with "One Month Xbox Live Gold membership:"

    Q1: I saw online when I login into my xbox account it says "Get two free
    games a month (1st and 16th) with Xbox Live Gold*". When I tried to download the free game Dungeon Defenders it is asking for Credit Card though it says Free. So is it free or I have to pay for this.



    Q2: If i want to buy a game(dvd for XBOX 360) from game stop, should I buy the DVD version of the game or buy online and download it (that way I do not have to worry about messing up the DVD with scratches.)



    Appreciate any help/advice..!!!

    What system are you trying to connect on? Xbox One or Xbox 360? For Xbox 360 try

    this guide     and for Xbox One use this guide. They'll walk you through the first time setup. First Time XBOX 360 :)

    The Gold membership that you received is likely considered a trial membership, which, unfortunately, is not eligible for the Games with Gold promotion. You must have a paid membership and not a trial for the free games.

    As far as the choice of disc vs download, that's all up to you. Games on Demand take up storage space on your console's HDD but will save you real life storage space. Disc versions can be sold to a reseller or a friend but Games on Demand can be deleted
    and redownloaded as long as the Xbox 360 servers are up. Games on Demand can never be damaged, scratched, or broken like a disc, but can never be shared with a friend or bought used.

    It all depends on which conveniences you prefer more than the others.

    ok - found a way to download a new profile and sign in. it seems to be fine. Is there a way to merge that profile with the other one which was already set up on the console?
