    15 Character Gamer Tag

    If you don't have access to a 360, then you're limited to the 12 character limit. There is no way around that.

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with

    changing a gamer tag    . In reference to your question, No special symbols, punctuation or accented characters are allowed. It has to be 15 characters or less.

    Gamer Tag only 12 characters long? Why??????

    If you can change it on a 360, you should still be able to use the old system that allowed 15 characters. Otherwise, there is no way to make it longer unless Microsoft changes the policy again in the future. The limit was shortened to make room for the sugfix that is added when people use the same tag.
