I bought the Xbox One S for my son for Xmas with Kinect. However, Microsoft doesn't do a good job of letting you know you have to buy a $40 adapter. I don't mind the $40, just let me know and have them available. As many have found out, they are out of
stock and every single partner of Microsoft that carries them is out of stock as well, well done Microsoft!!! Now I can't get one in time for Xmas and I have to pay over $100 on Amazon to get them! Class action lawsuit!

Looking for my kinect adapter

The offer to get a free Kinect adapter as part of upgrading to the Xbox One S
has already expired (March 2017), so it is no longer possible to get these for free.

It is still available for purchase in the Microsoft Store.

Xbox One X and Kinect

xbox.com has a link to Microsoft store saying you can purchase an adapter for the Kinect to connect to the one x but it's not there. Already extremely annoyed that I can't use the Kinect from my Xbox One and have to spend extra money on an adapter which
I shouldn't have to purchase only only to discover that I can't even find one in the Microsoft store. Amazon has jacked the price up to $95 for a stupid USB adapter. I will never purchase another Microsoft product. So much for good customer service....

Thanks for coming to the forums. First off the all digital console is not 5 years old. They came out last year. As for Kinect games you would need a Kinect for Xbox one and the

Kinect adapter. The adapter are very hard to find as Microsoft does not sell them any longer.

Stay away from EBay!!!!!! EBay Australia is selling the adapter for AU$500 which is a bad rip off! when Microsoft sold it for an RRP price of NZ$58.

Microsoft did not manufacture enough Kinect adapters!!!!!! They probably only manufactured like 1,000 of them, and then called it quits and stopped manufacturing, and selling both the Kinect and the adapter. Microsoft has killed Kinect! Pretty soon they'll
release a system update on Xbox One which doesn't support the Kinect, and then you won't be able to use it at all.... judging from the stance they took with this thingy.

I've had Kinect since November 2013. It was great. But I have adapted to how Microsoft is treating Kinect now, as I hardly use it's features now.

Customers who have just purchased a Kinect sensor to use with their Xbox One S console can buy the adapter from the Microsoft Store or other participating retailers.

There is no free adapter if you purchased the S and a Kinect.
