Firmware bug: no power on when mic is in controller and controller usb cable connected.

I want to report a firmware booting bug: xbox x doesn't power on when mic is in controller and controller usb cable connected after dis/reconnect the powercable.

Pushing the power button on the console result few seconds power lights on and goes dead again every time.

After dis/reconnect the powercable and without mic in the controller then it will power on normally and also when mic is in controller and power on normal wireless (=without controller usb cable connected).

So only mic and usb cable in the controller doesn't power on!

    :)

Xbox one controller won't stay connected wirelessly

When you have the controller connected to the console via a USB data cable (make sure it's a data cable, as a lot of charging cables for smartphones only have the power lines connected, but no data lines), open the Xbox accessories app, and check if there
is a firmware update available for that controller.

If the controller is up to date, remove the batteries, and connect a USB charging power supply to the USB cable, and put it into an outlet near you. Or use a power bank to power the controller just for testing purposes.

Play with the controller connected to the USB power supply or power bank. If the controller works, remove the USB cable, and insert fresh disposable batteries (rechargeable batteries "only" provide 1.2V power compared to the 1.5V power of disposable batteries,
also rechargeable batteries immediately lose power linearly, whereas disposable batteries hold their 1.5V power just before they die completely).

Does the controller still lose power and connection?

    Connection problem

The best and fastest way to connect a controller when you can't find a reason why it doesn't pair, is to use a Micro USB cable to connect the controller to the console.

This will automatically bind the controller. Also check in the Xbox Accessories App if the controller firmware needs to be updated.

When using a MicroUSB cable, make sure you use an actual USB data cable, that can transmit data. If you use a cellphone charging cable, it could be that the charging cable has only the power lines connected but no data lines. That would prevent the controller
    with communicating with the console.

  4. Firmware bug: no power on when mic is in controller and controller usb cable connected.

    Heya!

Does this happen with multiple controllers and multiple USB cables?

Does the same thing happen on another console with that controller and USB cable?

    Is the controller
    fully updated?

What steps have you taken so far to try and resolve the issue? Have you
    reset the console to factory
    settings?

Post back and let us know!

    xbox one controller wont sync

Get a Micro USB cable (make sure it's a data cable, not just a phone charging cable with no data lines and just power lines), and connect the controller to the console via USB cable.

If the console detects the controller, check in the Xbox Accessories App, if the controller requires a Firmware update.

Update the controller via USB cable, and if that succeeded, try the controller wireless again.

November Update broke Elite Controller/Console Sync/Power On

What happens when you connect the controller to the console with a USB cable.

If the controller does work when plugged in with USB cable than try and carry out a controller firmware update by going into all settings/Kinect & devices/Controllers and see what happens afterwards.
