Fifa 18 - controller doesn't work and selected storage device no longer available

Hello,

I haven't played Fifa for some weeks but when I tried to play some I got to a language selection after Fifa startup but my controller stopped working in Fifa. I could click Xbox button and there it was all OK but not in the game. What worked was to start
a secondary controller and use that one. Then I got the following error "Your selected storage device is no longer available. you will need to select a storage device to save games".

No matter whether I tried "retry" or "cancel" i got to a blue screen with "18" logo on the bottom that was kind-of loading.

There the game got stuck.

I tried to reinstall the game, deleted any local content (saves, reserved FIFA 18 space) but all in vain. both problems persists and I cannot play the game. I have tried the controller in another game and it works like a charm and also other games start
without problem. I do recall there was some XBOX update i had to install since I played Fifa 18 last time but the console was all OK and nothing strange happened during the update.

The device is Xbox One S. Fifa 18 was purchased on a disc. Controllers are Xbox One S default controllers.

Anyone would have an idea? Thanks in advance!

your selected storage device is no longer available,you will need to select a storage device to save games(fifa 18). What is the problem? i don't have an external hard,i have 150 GB free.

I would try a fresh install if the options do nothing.

I got these suggestions from EA Chat support and it helped:

1. Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternative Mac Address > Clear

2. After this shut down the console, disconnect the power cord from the back of the Xbox One and wait two minutes.

3. Once the two minutes have passed, plug the power back in and wait for the power bricks light to go from White to Orange.

4. Once the brick is Orange, start your console.

Were you ever able to resolve this? I got same message and re-installing did nothing for me.

Try this and see if it works. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Storage or Memory.

Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)

Select Clear System Cache.

When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes

that error code means the account doesn't exist.

try moving, deleting, reloading you account on to that xbox.

if that doesn't work clear your system cache.
