unfortunately it has nothing to do with currency exchange rates.

No as they would be in us dollars rather then pounds or Euro

Currency cards are only available for their purchasing regions no online console service will allow you to use an out of region currency in an wrong account as they are not in the business of exchange rates nor do they transfer between regions

That is why you don't use out of region codes yes you need to spend currency before you use region migration

Why would you use an out of region code or even buy one

Most services don't allow out of region codes for good reason taxes and they are not in the business to deal with exchange rates

I'll stick to playing FFXIV on my PC cause my friends that are playing on PS3 are lagging so bad that they cant play much of the endgame content. My console gaming is gonna stick with xbox.
