Feedback for gaming feature needed

Hello folks,

I'm just posting in the hope of gaining a little feedback I can later use in a feature on gaming site, Nerd Rock from the Sun.

I've asked in the past and received some decent comments so thought why not try again.

Basically it's a look at the best and worst of gaming history, kicking off with the best and worst looking console, best feelgood game and biggest misery inducing game and best and worst video game/company mascot.

In anyone fancies chipping in with their opinions and why they believe so, then I'd be hugely grateful and will include quotes within the finished article.

DLC question

I just bought the game and I was just looking for feedback on the DLC and what is cool, needed or just trash. thanks for any feedback.

Best looking console for me is a tie. Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo GameCube. Neither took a lot of shelf space.

Worst looking console for me is the intellivision. The coiled wires on the game pads where a real pain to get into the internal storage slots on the console. But some of the keypad overlays were pretty cool looking.

Best feel good game. Just for sheer enjoyment is probably the board game clue. I know its not a videogame but I've had a ton of fun with my family with that.

Misery inducing. Hmm. The secret of mana on SNES. The ending caught me by surprise and was the first game I played where one of the heroes dies at the end. Brought me to tears.

Best and worst mascots. That's tough. My favorite game characters aren't really mascots. Best is master chief. He's a man of few words but when he speaks those words count. Worst is tie with sonic and Mario. As iconic as they are they have too many bad games
tied to them. Speaking of bad games throw in pacman as an honorable mention.

I cannot name a best game but I will name a few I thought were very good in their day and some which hold up even now. Combat on Atari. Dungeons and dragons on intellivision. Smurfs on colecovision. Wizards and warriors on NES. Tetris on gameboy. super metroid
on SNES. SNES had a ton of great games. Fighters mega mix on Saturn. Twisted metal on PlayStation. Skies of Arcadia on dreamcast. Metal gear on PS2. KOTOR and pgr2 on Xbox. Wii sports. Mass effects. All of them. On the 360. Original kinect sports titles and
dance central. Lost about 20lbs with those. Forza horizon 2 on the One.

Worst I've ever played is sword quest on Atari.

Hi, thanks for the tip for muting other players.

Yesterday I played against two guys and that was... pfuuu how to say that... a NIGHTMARE !

They sang, shouted, commented absolutely everything, and insulted me from the beginning to the end.

It is imperative that players are able to mute easily their opponents, it is a nightmare to finish some games because of that !

How about everything the 360 can do to add to all the great new features of X1. I realize they're providing a new experience and it's difficult to program certain features but I can't help but be a little disappointed in a few of the omissions.

1. I want to rock out to my own music (Yes, I celebrate the entire Michael Bolton catalog) when I'm playing Forza.

2. I want to know if a friend has just logged on so i can invite him to my game.

3. I want to send a quick voice message.

4. I want to get surround sound through my surround sound headset. This needs to be fixed yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying my X1 experience. That said, I don't think it's too much to ask that the next gen console at the very least have features the old gen console has.

External HD feature. I already filled up my Xbox One HD due to the large installation sizes. I had to delete installations to make room for other games I wanted to play. Could get real old having to reinstall every time I want to play a new game.

Rumor has it that MS is working on this, but they have other things they are working on first.
