Feedback - Allow Management of All Xbox Live Game Clips on Companion App

xbox companion app is a legacy app from early windows 10, they are moving things over to the xbox app and the companion app will be discontinued eventually. you don't really have any reason to use the companion app now, which is why it does not come preinstalled on windows 11. game clips uploaded to xbox live should be visible from the gamebar.

Excellent! Now Microsoft needs to work on making it so I can manage my game clips and view the marketplace on Smartglass. Then it'd be the perfect companion app.

Regarding the clip trim issue, I would suggest freeing some space on your console by clearing the Mac address and saved locale games as they might be the cause of the issue. However, Currently Xbox Game Clips edit is only available on Windows 10 not on consoles.

edit and share clips on Windows 10.

Note In March of 2020 the option to upload images and game clips from the Xbox Console Companion (Beta) app was permanently removed. You’ll need to upload images and game clips from the non-beta version of the Xbox Console Companion
app.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox One X and the automatic deletion of your captures. I can relate to how you feel about losing cherished recollections.



Regarding your missing captures, it's possible that they were not saved properly or were corrupted. However, I recommend checking your Xbox Live account to see if they were uploaded there.



As for the automatic deletion of captures, this is a feature designed to help manage storage space on your Xbox. Although a feature in captures will allow you to view captures expiring soon filter, I understand that you may want to view way past the expired captures with this feature, and for feedback we recommend you submit one by following the guide here - Provide feedback to Team Xbox | Xbox Support. This way your feedback will reach the right team - Team Xbox.



In the meantime, you can manually back up your captures to an external hard drive or upload them to your Xbox Live account to ensure they are not lost. You can also adjust the settings for automatic deletion in the Xbox settings. Regarding your feedback on the UI (User interface), please submit feedback to this too.
