Feature Transfer Error when installing disk version of Microsoft Flight Simulator

I am happy to provide some additional suggestions that can hopefully resolve your problem. My first suggestion would be to contact the Flight Sim support team and have them assist you while attempting some of the suggestions I will provide. Second, Let me provide you with additional documentation I found on the support site about installation.

Retail disc version - How to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Flight Simulator; Follow the steps here, and then if you have Win 10 or 11, follow the steps for the specific OS you are currently on.

To also provide you with some information, since you mention having to download an additional 60GB, here is why.

The DVDs contain only the installer and the content (The Aircraft, World, etc.). The core simulator is then downloaded via the internet during installation. This ensures you always have the latest version.

Hope your day is well. You mentioned you want to transfer Microsoft Flight Simulator to Steam. According to the Microsoft Flight Simulator FAQ, "content is tied to the platform you are playing on—if you purchase a DLC on Steam, you cannot transfer it to the Microsoft Store version and vice-versa."

For installation inquiries I am linking the Flight Simulator Support page concerning "Installation for all versions" All versions - Can I choose or change the installation path?
