    Feature Request: Xbox Series S "with" disc drive in some way


    I know, the Xbox Series S is designed to be fully digital, but wouldn't it be nice to have the possibility to play physical games on it? In my case, I have the Series X in the living room on my 4K TV and the Series S in my office on a WQHD display. Wouldn't
    it be nice, if you could play games on the Series S when the disc is in the drive of the Series X as long it is available in the same local network?

    This would be awesome, because then I could play FIFA in the office while my girlfriend is watching her **** TV shows Feature Request: Xbox Series S "with" disc drive in some way ;)

    If you are able to put a disc in, you have an Xbox One S, not a series S. A Series S has no disc drive. The game is not compatible.

    You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

    The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

    The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

    All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

    The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

    I hope this clears things up for you.

    Yes. Game progress is saved the same way from the disc than from a digital game either on the cloud or on the hard disk drive.

    *Keep in Xbox Series S doesn't support physical disc-based media. The Xbox Series X is Microsoft's only next-generation console with an optical disc-drive.

    That is correct! The next generation of Xbox One S wont feature a disc drive. While other Xbox One S with disc drives will be available.
