    FEATURE REQUEST: Screensavers on XBox consoles for OLED TV owners


    OLED TVs are a great televisions that have one major weak point and that's possible burn-in of static images. Albeit your image needs to be on the screen for a fairly long amount of time and there are some "tools" that aid in some aleviation of the burn-in,
    it's still a possibility. Other than just dimming the screen, it would be nice to have a series of non-static screensavers to pick from to prevent burn as kids leave games paused for minutes on end.

    In the Xbox One's 1710 update, Microsoft introduced new screen dimmer features to the console. Some of these features include large notifications that let you view invites at a glance, when you might not be paying attention to the TV, but also, a special
    technique designed to prevent against OLED burn-in and other types of image retention.

    By the Xbox One screen dimmer, it will induce a screensaver of sorts, that not only defends against burn-in over longer periods of time but also "scrubs" image retention from the screen.

    Another thing - Where is the "screen dimming" option or screensaver? Couldn't add that little feature in there I guess.

    I want to ask, why if i dont use my xbox and is still on it get darker and show me achievements?

    It's basically a screensaver. I don't believe you can turn that feature completely off, but there may be a setting to delay it.

    Im more curious about that guys £1400 tv than my screen dimming. Though a minor screensaver would be a nice touch.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. The steps in the blank screen article you mentioned talk about trying the console on a different TV and using a different HDMI cable. If none of the steps provided in the article resolve the issue, we recommend

    requesting a repair     for the console. Be sure to let us know the results!
