Feature Request: Boot directly to Live TV.

I know I'm not the first person request this feature, but I will add my request to the pile in hopes it someday might generate a result.

Question: Why after saying "Xbox On." are we not allowed to set the option to boot up to full screen live TV?

I am the only avid gamer in my house and have the Xbox One hooked up to my primary television in the house. My wife, however, is NOT a gamer, and only turns the xbox on because she must to be able to watch TV. However, now she's got to tell it turn on, then
tell it to "Watch TV." She then uses our harmony remote.

Simple Solutions:

A - Allow the command "Xbox watch TV" to turn on the xbox and boot directly to full screen live TV. Where as, "Xbox On" would boot to the Home screen.

B - Give us the option in settings to set the Xbox One to boot directly to 1) Home, 2) Disk in Unit (ie - a game or dvd/blu-ray, 3) Live TV.

This unit is designed to integrate with the entertainment center of your home, but not everyone within the house will use the Xbox One to play a game. This seems like a major oversight, but can easily be fixed with a simple update to the system to give us
(the end-users) the option to boot in a manner that would appease the non-gamers in the home, while allowing the gamer to easily press the home button on our controler to drop into the Home screen when we are ready to get to gaming or simply say "Xbox go home."

I know this will seem funny to some hardcore gamers who don't have a significant other complaining about the additional steps that are now required to simply watch TV.

Xbox Support - Don't get me and my Xbox One exiled to the basement - that TV isn't even HD - and it's cold down there. Save a gamer and you'll have a customer for life.

Is there a way to get x1 to boot directly to live tv, and does any one notice audio lag?

Awesome suggestion, aceman365. With an option to boot to full-screen TV i would be able to hook my cable back up to my console. I had it connected that way for about 2 weeks before my family revolted an asked me to restore normal TV. It's a shame cause
i really liked it hooked up that way.

I agree with this suggestion. Or atleast have a dedicated "button" that I could program in my remote to switch to live TV full-screen. I use a Harmony remote and would love to program something into the remote to put the XBox One in TV mode when I press
the "Watch TV" button on my remote and have the XBox One goto the dashboard when I press the "Play Games" button on my remote.

Well needless to say she won and I hooked up the cable box traditionally. Please take the suggestions from both of these people. I have a harmony one and dedicated command to boot xone into full screen TV mode would very much make sense. I wonder how
many other family men dealt with the same issue with their family.
