Faulty wired XBOX 360 controller

I recently experienced this exact same problem. (about a month ago)

Two brand new wired controllers and when plugging them into the USB slots on the front of the Xbox 360 S both showed up as Player 1.

I had 6 other wired controllers to run some tests with and eventually identified the faulty controller.

All of the other 7 wired controllers paired up as Player 1 and Player 2 except for one controller which still comes up as Player 1 no matter what we did or tried.

I eventually returned the faulty controller and they exchanged it for me.

Thank you very much, this may clear up the 12 to 14 digit issue. I personally will not buy another wired controller. As there has been nothing but issues since we bought them. These controllers need to have a wire connected whenever they are in use.

Now that you have mentioned a third party. I believe this will be the case.

The control has a 90-day warranty, microsoft does not carry out out-of-date repairs.

on the control there are two codes, one on top of the bar code and one on the bottom, the one on the bottom has 14 digits, I just counted on my own control, here's an image to illustrate.

Question is what controller is it

If it isn't a ms wired controller then you have to contact the third party manufacturer

MS doesn't sell wired controllers not in years

They sell wireless with w charge cable but thats not wired

If you loom at the controller it is third party you will know
