Farcry 5 and Train Sim World 3 overheat xbox one x

A couple other games as well, like cricket 22 and rdr2.

Games are stored on external HD, I played through the first 1/3 of farcry 5 with no issues now when starting the game out will overheat and restart, farthest I can get in to game is to load in to base and legs a vehicle but cannot drive.

Xbox was on a shelf with all open sides, but a couple of feet away from the wall. It is now moved out onto an end table so several feet of open space on all sides. I have even opened the case to blow air through the heatsink and other areas.

Other games play fine such as before we leave, cities skylines, empire of sin, and can run Netflix and YouTube all day without issue.

Yes, it will kick to high speed just before shut down, it runs fine with other games, I can hear it kick on and off, especially when playing cities skylines

I'd suggest power-cycling your console and making sure its ventilation complies with the tips shown at:

• Power cycle:

- Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down.

- Unplug all external devices from your console's USB ports.

- Unplug the power cord from your console for 5 minutes.

- Plug the power cord directly into one of the wall's outlets.

If that doesn't work and your console continues to shut down due to insufficient ventilation, then I'm afraid it needs to be repaired.

It shuts down due to overheating and displays the overheat warning upon restart.
