Fan ramps up then shuts off

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your console.

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if your could answer the following questions:

- May I ask which Xbox model you are using?
- Are there any devices plugged into your console's USB ports?
- Is your console plugged directly into one of the wall's outlets? in some cases, power strips and extension cords can cause power-related issues.

Currently it is plugged into a power strip but the real problem is when playing a few specific events within Destiny 2, I can hear the fans inside ramping up and then the entire machine just shuts off.

I currently have the Xbox turned around so the ventilation ports on the back side are pointed towards the center of the room and are not covered by anything.

The fan will ramp up and down depending on the load that the game is currently experiencing

My One S does about the same. The fan just decides to ramp up to 100% without the unit being warm. I'm on here now because I've coped with it since I can get it to go months without ramping up but now I am out of warranty. I decided to move it to my
living room recently where I like to open my windows for cool air. And as soon as I do so the fan ramps up to 100%. Every time it gets hit by cool air it must think it's over heating. Annoying thing is, once the fan kicks it into over drive, the fan won't
slow down on its own most of the time and will spin at 100% even after I turn the unit off or even hours later if I let it. Hopefully I can find some answers somewhere on here before I tear the thing apart.

I too am having this issue. If you wait on the title screen to long the fans ramp up a fair bit. During general gameplay that fans are working harder than they do during any other game I've played on the console, and as you said, while on the community screen,
the fans go crazy and if on there too long the console shuts down and can't be turned back on for 10 mins or so. There is a discussion on Reddit regarding this issue but nobody from Undead Labs or Microsoft seem to be acknowledging the problem.
