Family share / Xbox home

After several hours of google and 1 Microsoft support call (who’s help was incorrect and inaccurate, according to Microsoft.com) … I have found out that family share (Xbox home) is limited to basically two Xbox devices. Assuming this information is correct , which I’m pretty sure it is… here is my question.

What is the best way to set up additional Xbox devices for the same family members (more than 2 Xbox devices)

Let’s say I take those oldest child and make his Xbox a home Xbox for just him and take the next oldest and make his Xbox the home Xbox for the other (third) child. Do I remove the oldest from all the family share listings (Xbox family members) and make his a stand alone device (no other log in /accounts)?

How does this effect all the other games that the two oldest boys shared and played together previously? He will have no access , I’m assuming?

Just trying to figure out the best way to get all the kids set up without someone losing access to everything , which I’m afraid is not possible?

Home Xbox is designed to allow you to share within your family home. There is no other way to share Xbox Live Gold or any other content, without using the Home Xbox feature.

If you set up the oldest child with their own console and set that console as their Home, anything you do on the other console will not affect them and vice versa. You don't have to remove them from family setting.

To save money, if you were to have your oldest child to be the one with the subscription/game purchases, they could set 1 of the consoles as their Home and then sign in and use the non-Home console. That would allow the games/subscriptions tp be shared to the other children in the home without makong duplicate purchases. The only issue with that is if the servers are down or your internet goes out, your oldest would not be able to access his games on his console.

This also depends on how they've been sharing games already as far as who bought them. If your younger child bought a game, the oldest would only be able to access that game on their Home console.

the home setting is for the home only not to go sharing with all, it is actually against the terms to share accounts with others to share games.

Primary use of the home function is for the main console in a family home.

Your family just needs to make their own accounts and you can share your gold with them by adding them to an Xbox Family.

If they all declare the same console as the Home Xbox, they can share all of the content on it as well.
