    Family settings and restrictions


    When one of my friends set up his Xbox/Microsoft account he made it so everything was restricted and whatnot so I had to make myself the parent account for him and unrestricted things for him. He wants to change his profile picture on the Xbox app and
    when he tries it gives a notification saying "custom images are only available for adult accounts". I have his content restrictions set to none and am not sure what to do as the family settings don't say anything about what they can do with their profile.

    Sounds like family settings restricted. If you have access, go to settings, privacy/family and see if that has anything to do with it.
