Family Safety third party app issue.

My child wants to add his migrated account to MultiMC (Better Minecraft launcher).

So if he adds it he gets directed to a side which says:

Your parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by microsoft. If you want to use this app, ask your parent to visit account.live.com/mk and go to Manage this child's access to third-party apps for your account."

BUT when I go to said link, I can't seem to find this option anywhere nor can I find in the microsoft family management settings anything to do with third party apps.

Also all the other questions on this issue didn't help.

    :)

Family Safety third party app issue.

    Greetings HelpMepls,

Under the link you mentioned above (I will reference it here) You can go to the option on the right-hand side of "Manage this child's access to third-party apps. Once on that page it should I've you the option to reenable the access. You can come back to this page later and disable it as well. Just make sure you are logged in with your Microsoft account and you should be good to go.

I would recommend opening a tab to the account page and then open the above link on a second tab just to make sure your in with the right account. Also keep in mind that you will only be able to alter the settings if you're an adult in the family group.

Hope this helps and happy gaming.

    Access to third party apps

Thank you! We are using a PC. Yes, I’d like to adjust settings for a child’s account. I found all of the Family Safety menus but I can’t find anything that mentions Third Party apps.

Sony does not issue PC drivers for their controllers. You’ll either have to use another controller, or install a third-party one. We cannot guarantee the safety of any third-party utilities

    Manage my child's profile info

I have reached out to discord already on the advice of Microsoft support. Discord indicated it was an issue with the family safety settings for the child account and that I needed to enable 3rd party apps.

    Family Safety glitch

This is probably a setting on your parents' family safety settings. There is a setting there that can allow, block or ask for permission when a child tries to use a third party app (non-Microsoft), doesn't matter the age or rating. Your parents allowing it should give you access right after, but this was probably just a sync issue.

I'm glad it is working now. If you need anything else, please let me know!
