before, my wife has gamepass ultimate she uses on xbox console and i have gamepass PC on my PC. my daughter could play on our other console and she did not need her own subscription. i just swapped my kid to a PC and now when all 3 of us try to join a multiplayer game together one of us (usually me) get dropped with a message saying : connection lost, you have lost connection to the game server. no other issue. we can join the same fire team in halo and everything else seems to work fine. i tried logging my wife's account into kids xbox app on her PC then switching back to kids account. did not fix. tried restarting all devices too. tried different party leaders.

any ideas? am i required to pay for another gamepass PC subscription for my kid so they can swap to PC?

    :)

family of 3 could play halo multiplayer with 2 consoles and 1 pc sharing gamepass but 1 console and 2 PC's cannot?

Hello, my name is Fernando, an independent consultant. Hope you are doing great. I will be more than happy to help you with your query today.
It could be a connection problem from what I understand. Since they are using the same account. Sincerely, Fernando.

family of 3 could play halo multiplayer with 2 consoles and 1 pc sharing gamepass but 1 console and 2 PC's cannot?

it is infinite and im indicating that the multiplayer part of it is only half working. now that we have my kid on a PC we cannot all 3 play multiplayer together. we can all independently play multiplayer but not together in a fireteam without one of us (on PC) getting a network error that will not let them join the game. it always sticks at "loading mode 1%" then right after gives the network error. i have added her PC to my list of devices and all that stuff to try and fix it.

Iare you talking about infinite or older games.

If infinite then just download the multiplayer part as it's free

If older titles then yes you need to sign in with the subscribed account on the xbox app to download the game.

    Xbox accounts

I'm in the same boat and would love to have a Family Ultimate Gamepass that could be shared over 3 (or 4)

    Xboxes in the same house.

unfortunately only 1 Xbox can be set as Home for a profile so it's best to set the Xbox that is most used as Home and have Ultimate Gamepass on the profiles that use the other 2 consoles.

if you do have to cancel 1 of the subscriptions, the profile that has UGP can sign in on 1 of the non-Home consoles then Switch User to allow both your boys to play at the same time (but then you wouldn't be able to play at the same time as them).

I recommend getting the MS Rewards app and doing the Gamepass quests to save up enough MS Reward Points to exchange for Live Gold, Gamepass or Ultimate Gamepass subscriptions.

you can donate 1000 points per month to another family member which means if all 3 of you do as many quests as possible, you should be able to keep at least 1 subscription going just from MS Rewards and save £15 per month.

you can also earn more points by going to https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/

    hope this helps

Family using xbox live on 3 xbox ones?

You need at least 2 for 3 consoles. Unfortunately there is no family plan for Live.

For exampled, you have accounts 1, 2, and 3 and consoles 1, 2, and 3

Account 1 purchases Live and sets console 2 as their Home. Account 1 can then sign in and play online on console 1. Account 2 can then sign on and play console 2 without needing to purchase Live. Then account 3 purchases Live and can play on console 3.
