Family Member Can't play purchased games

A family member associated with my xbox live account can't play games today. Yesterday he was able to play any game that we'd purchased but now he keeps getting kicked out and asked to purchase a gold account. Do I need a separate gold account for everyone
in my family? i didn't think i did.

I have a family account with one other person as my family. The Game "Family Game Night" only allows one person to play each game and the other family member can't be included in the game. Is there any way both family member can play the games against ech

Basically you sign into a mate's/family members xbox and make that your home console and your mate/family member does the same on yours. Then any purchases you make, appear on your mate's/family member's xbox and vice versa.

To my knowledge, these Games for Gold games are not available for purchase to secondary members of a Gold Family Pack. You can only get them as the primary member of the family gold pack. The only alternative I see is if your family members wish to play
these games you can download it to 1 console initially and all the profiles on that console can play it online or offline. They just wouldn't be able to play the games on multiple consoles.

Your other son most likely already has the console set as his Home which is why you can access his games.

Honestly I didn't realize their accounts had a "home console" setting. We just got a Series X and I set it as my home console, but my sons didn't. R other son's games working really had me so confused....

Agreed. The whole idea of a family gold plan is pretty pointless when all the members can't share the games. Just make sure they are all the same IP and all family members should be able to download and play all DLC. No different then someone going to
the living room to get a game to play in their room. People still pirate, and families miss out.
