Family licensing

I have set up a family on Microsoft and Xbox I purchased the game under the parent account which would be me, but it will not let them play the game unless my gamer tag is signed in even though their profiles have adult settings it will not let them play the game unless I am signed in on that console.

I bought games under my account and listed my children as family members so they should be able to play the games on the other xboxs in the house and the one at their grandmothers. why is it not allowing this to happen i have removed any setting that could stop this.

No it doesnt work like that unfortunately. They would only be able to play your games from the home xbox (can only have one of those). Being listed as a family member makes no difference.

It is odd that its still not working even from the home xbox though

You would need to set the console as your Home console in order to share with them. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox

The family plan doesn't have anything to do with the licensing of content. So leaving the plan will do nothing to the licenses.
