Family account playing xcloud to console removing my "home" setting?

I feel like this may be by design by I am not sure. Looking to play halo with my daughter, but when I load up xcloud on a tablet and then she goes to launch it on her profile it says she doesnt own it.

While I know this is set as my "home" system, should xcloud effect what our "home" system is? She does have another xbox at her mothers house, but it seems the problem is with my profile being loaded on xcloud.

We are on a family account together.

All you need to do is make an account for your son, if you both set the same Xbox to home, he will have access to the games but not Xcloud

The family settings app will allow you to bring your son into your Xbox family as well as give his play limits

GamePass Ultimate - do I need 2 subscriptions?

    Hey there,

I suggest you to run the Game Pass Ultimate subscription through the Microsoft account which you use on PC and then set the Xbox as your home console so your family/friends can enjoy the benefits of the subscription (with the exception of Cloud Gaming) without having to pay twice.

To set the home console sign in with the account from your PC and head to Settings > General > Personalization > Home Console > Make This My Home Console.

After you are done you can also remove the account if you do not play on the console in Settings > Accounts > Remove accounts.

    Good luck!

It won’t let me gameshare properly

On your console, you need to make sure his account has your console set as the home console.

When his account is signed into your console and you go into system >Settings > General >Personalization and then Set home Xbox, it should say "Remove this as my home Xbox:. If it says that you should be able to play the games while on your account without
    his account signed in.

If it says "Make this my home Xbox" then the purchasing account will need to be signed in to play any of the games. So that is when his account will need to make your console it's home Xbox.

You do NOT need to have the accounts in the same family for this to work.

    Splitting an account

The family account would not have an effect, but the Home setting would. The Home setting allows an account to share gold/games with any other profiles on the Home console. So if the game was purchased on one child's account, they can set a console as their
Home. The other child can use that Home console and access the game while the account that purchased the game can sign into the non-Home console and play there. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox

Family accounts are more for being able to set restrictions and things on accounts. It doesn't effect licensing.

    Game Pass Ultimate sharing

I would suggest running the Game Pass Ultimate subscription on your daughter's Microsoft account. Then sign in with her account on your Xbox and set it as the home console with her account. This way you both get the benefits of the subscription (with the exception of Cloud Gaming for your account) without having to pay twice.

To set a home console open the Settings app and head to General > Personalization > My Home Console > Make This My Home Console.

After that you can also remove her account from your console in Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

If you have concerns about adding payment info to your child's account you can add her to a Microsoft Family group and add a spending limit. More info at https://account.microsoft.com/family/about
