Fallout New Vegas - Motor Runner bug

I'm experiencing a known issue with the Motor Runner no longer engaging in dialogue when you try to talk with him. Initially, you can speak with him once. Whether you want to speak with him about the NCR wanting his head, you give him the package from Diane
and Jack, sell him chems or simply engage in dialogue then say good bye and end the dialogue, he replies back with a generic response like the rest of the Fiends do in Vault 3.

After some reading on this, I noted the different bugs reported with Motor Runner, specially this bug where you no longer can talk with him. Initially, I felt it was related to the fact I had other quests running such as "Still in the Dark" while I had Aba
Daba Honeymoon still active.

So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, no change.

Tried completely deleting my save data all together in the cloud, thinking something must have gotten cached quest wise with the multiple different saves I had. Still no change

So I started a brand new game, and immediately navigated to Red Rock Canyon to start the Aba Daba Honeymoon quest line. I initiated no other quests at all except this. Motor Runner, STILL behaves this same way where I can only speak with him once, and that's
it.

Is there anyone else out there who has Fallout New Vegas for Xbox One experiencing this same problem?

On my PC game, I can continue to talk to him, whether I complete the Diane and Jack quest where I have to bring him the shipment or I can talk him in to giving me his helmet to fake his deaht to Colonel Hsu. Is there a fix for this at all?

Hello Mordimier,

Unfortunately, this bug seems to be general in Fallout New Vegas and is not limited to you.

The only way forward would be to kill Motor Runner.

Unfortunately I think it's specific to the Xbox version.

When I asked about the problem, I saw that other players had the same problem.

Fallout New Vegas being quite old, I doubt there is a patch published against this bug, but who knows? It may be interesting to contact Obisidian or Bethesda about this!

Thanks very much for your reply!

Just to conclude, the main part to my question was pertaining to the Xbox One version of this game, (even though I guess it's technically 360 still) and if anyone had experienced the same problem or had success with getting Motor Runner to enter dialogue
again.

I have this game on Steam/PC as well and dont have the issue there. I just loaded my game on there recently to compare the behavior. I did both the Great Khans and NCR quest where I had to engage him, talked him in to giving me his helmet and kept him alive
so I could continue to sell chems to him in the future, and he still will engage in dialogue with me.

If its expected that there is no way around this bug on specifically the Xbox One console, I'll go ahead, give him the Khans package, then kill him for his helmet and move on.

I accidentally sold 'That Gun' in Fallout New Vegas: a .223 pistol that looked like it came from Blade Runner. Boy that pissed me off! Must've been really blitzed or something at the time.

I wish Obsidian would become the exclusive Fallout developer. New Vegas, despite the bugs, was excellent. Fallout 3 was fun, but it just didn't really have the spirit of the originals. It was fairly hollow I felt. New Vegas just felt full and I felt like
I was playing the real Fallout 3.

Still enjoyed Fallout 3 though. I'll pick it up for sure.
