Fallout 4 - No character voice audio

I've downloaded Fallout 4 twice through GamePass and both times the characters audio doesn't work, unless you hit pause in between every sentence. It works fine when cloud gaming, but I keep getting disconnected. So I decided it might of been a game pass issue, so I bought the game and downloaded it again and I'm still getting the same issue.

It's nothing to do with settings, because they are all fine in all of my other games and I've reset all of the audio settings back to default and it's still doing it?

Can anyone help or direct me to who I need to speak to, to get this sorted please?

Thanks for the response, I’m playing on an Xbox and I can’t find any audio settings that mention 5.1? It’s currently set to stereo compressed but I’ve tried Dolby which is also an option and that doesn’t work either?

Also just using the tv sound, I don’t have headphones, if that makes a difference?

You likely have your speaker configurations set wrong to 5.1 rather than stereo so all you’re getting is the left and the right channels that do not contain the dialogue. Please check your sound configurations in options.

Just for future reference, there is no difference between the Game Pass version and the purchased version of anything. The only thing that’s different is that game pass games have a countdown clock on them to your next billing date that will turn into a pumpkin if you don’t renew. Otherwise, they are identical in every single respect

Comprueba que el juego no esté configurado para sonido 5.1 y lo estés escuchando en el altavoz del monitor. Si está en 5.1 el sistema espera un altavoz central para las voces de los personajes.

I think it would be more difficult to do this for Andromeda.

Fallout 4 got away with it because Codsworth has a robotic voice. Probably easier to add different recorded names to a sentence in a robotic voice.

In andromeda actors would have to record the same sentences for each name which would probably be a nightmare to do.

They would have had to record a lot of sentences 3 or 4 times already due to the game calling you by first name if you kept the default names during character creation.
