Fallout 3 fail (How Bethesda left millions on the table)

Wish Bethesda would have continued developing Fallout 3 instead of abandoning it years ago. From unfinished storylines and characters to not tying Fallout New Vegas to it Bethesda left millions on the table. I think there were enough hardcore players out
there that Bethesda would have definitely saw more profit to the point of helping keep Obsidian afloat years ago. Combining storylines of both New Vegas and Fallout 3 could have kept a new DLC every six months generating more than a hundred million in profit.
Taking elements of New Vegas such as crafting and the gun runners kiosk systems would have help keep it fresh for years. Using unfinished stories in Fallout 3 to encompass New Vegas You could have seen the vault dweller travel across the continent looking
for cures for goulification and the mutant threat too. Could have played a bigger roll in the Brotherhood of steel or join other factions too breathing new life into the game. Think of it ! Every six months would bring a new DLC worth 20.00 bucks a pop to
Bethesda. Now though it's lost it's steam, it's momentum. Players have moved on now to other games while still wondering "what if " ? Well like any of the hardcore Fallout players I still keep an eye looking to a new Fallout game, but don't hold your breath
    as Bethesda bailed on you.

    :)

The next Fallout game will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico

They (Bethesda/Obsidian) could have made it work with the referencing in both F.O 3 and New Vegas involving E.D and the Roosevelt academy. Fallout New Vegas is fun but it's no more than an add on of F.O 3. You could even call it Fallout 3 goes on vacation.
It's fun and there are a few new additions to it, but if Bethesda were smart and wanted to flip a quick profit they would have made a DLC incorporating much of what is structurally in New Vegas, right down to the Gunrunners kiosk and crafting tables. I would
have easily coughed up another 30 caps for that but it's too late now as the majority of fans have moved on to other games now. It's a pity too as Beth/Obsidian left millions on the table bailing on this game prematurely.

    Which DLCs should I get?

Well technically it is not. When Bethesda purchased the rights, they only muddied the water by not following the first two Fallout and Fallout 2).

They chose to capitalize off the old fan base by making reference to the old series.

Worked pretty good too. Bethesda coughed up under 6 Million and made 500 Million off Fallout 3 alone.

Throw in New Vegas and they made roughly 250 to 300 million.

Good roll of the dice on their part.

  4. Fallout 3 fail (How Bethesda left millions on the table)

I felt the same way. What was worse was that some of the side story lines felt "phoned in". Finding Nuka-Cola Quantum? A violin? Little side quests but doesn't add to the story at all. What about something more of the history of Washinton DC? A DLC to the
CDC? An add-in for the Internation Spy Museum with a special weapon or something?

Don't get me wrong, I like the graphics and the ability to play based on Karma, but there were some disappointments in some of the anti-climactic way some stories played out to. Oh well...

[/quote]They "capitalized" on us by publishing a good game that was something we had wanted for about a decade. Nothing wrong with that

    Fallout 4

Are you stupid, or just trolling?

Wow Your Mother said those exact words to Me when I climbed off Her the other night ??

Look Jack A--, if You can not see that New Vegas is nothing more then an extension of Fallout 3 Your a hopeless cause.

Bethesda used Oblivion to make Fallout 3.

They chumped Interplay into selling the rights to them for less then 7 million dollars.

Using most of the existing Oblivion game (costing them virtually nothing) they made over half a billion dollars.

Feeling the pressure of the Interplay lawsuit, they contracted Obsidian to make the next installment of Fallout for 3.5 million and made 300 million dollars and shafted Obsidian in the process.

Compare them ( Obsidian and Bethesda) to the Boy scouts meet the mercenaries.
