Fallout 3 Add Ons - Series X

Hi all.

I own a physical copy of Fallout 3 GOTY edition (PAL), which includes all 5 DLC add ons. I also own a physical copy of Fallout 4 that came with a digital code for Fallout 3 which I renewed so I don't have to always put in a disc to play Fallout 3.

On my Series X console Fallout 3 works and has worked in the past, however, I can now only get one of the DLC to be recognised in game, Operation Anchorage. This means I cannot continue my game as previous saves are dependant on those add ons being available.

When I check under Manage Installation, all 5 DLC are installed. I am on Version 19.627.0.1901.

I have tried a hard reset and reinstall, but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. To be honest, I'd feel more confident if the game saw none of them instead of one.

File info doesn't show any reason why only one of the DLC would be recognised over another. I saw a number of Xbox One issues surrounding this but no real suggestions on how to resolve (other than reset, reinstall, which did not work) and nothing on Series X.

Any thoughts?

Only the GOTY edition works on the Xbox One with the add-ons, so you have to use the disc to play. More info on that here https://bit.ly/3ciypG7

Thanks Stuart. I appreciate that link, none of the searches I did brought that one up.

Seems strange that I can replicate the issue of the game reinstalling the DLC each time I take the disc out and pop it back in to play. I guess the game is that old the care factor is minimal.

Any of the Fallout games, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4. The Mass Effect Series. Dragon Age Series. Although you might be tempted to buy some of the dlc, but you don't need it to enjoy the base games.

And add Fable to the list

Unfortunately not all games have been made backwards compatible and that was shut down to focus on the Series X. So after that releases, maybe they'll add more.

Fallout 3 is compatible (you can see the full list here) so there shouldn't be an issue playing that on the One.

about a year ago I bought Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for $15. The add-ons are so good, the entire game with add-ons kinda overshadowed Fallout 3 just a little, which is hard for me to say since I loved Fallout 3 so much.
