Fall Out 4 will not load saved games from the cloud, Delta ring

From what I understand, having the gold account with saved game data in the cloud means that you no longer loose your saved games.. once you get your new machine and load up live you will have access to all your saved games. I had a similar problem and
saved my hard drive but honestly I never used it because of the cloud. Sorry to hear about your red rings of death. Have you figured out why you have had it happen now 2 times?

I am currently trying Delta ring. I will report here if it helps with crashing in late game.

I was able to finish the game that was constantly crashing after updating to Delta ring release Xbox Insider Release Notes - Delta (2208.220715-2200) - Xbox Wire

If Omega ring has same fixes, then hopefully everyone will get this fix soon.

I will continue testing with Delta ring with all addons enabled (currently have extra civs disabled) with new game on huge map.

Keep your save games on the cloud and delete the HDD saves and the game and re-download.

Then when you have it you can try the game again to see what happens and your cloud saves will be there if it works and you can copy them back to your HDD to use or access them from the cloud directly and see if the rings continue to save.

Quick resume doesn't function with Elden Ring (the game I've had save data issues with). That's an issue, but it's irrelevant to the cloud save issue I'm describing.

Like I said, it happens either way. The problems are:

1) the cloud saves don't update every time a game saves locally, so the cloud saves can fall behind.

2) the cloud saves overwrite the local saves (without prompt) every time you start a game while online, even if the cloud saves are older.

This is a ridiculous design. What happens when someone keeps their console offline or has no internet connection for a period of time and then goes back online? They could lose hours/days/weeks of progress in multiple games if they played during that period.

I saw an older post describing exactly that. A father was upset that his young son lost 4 days of progress in Minecraft because he played while they had no internet, and that local save data was immediately overwritten when they got back online (with absolutely no prompt or choice in the matter).

My game ones saved while I was in the Mantis falling down the cliff.

You know what I did?

I kept clicking "load last checkpoint"

I did that 4 times I think and it did load up a checkpoint before the falling.
