    Failed Minecraft migration


    Hello,

    Last week Thursday I decided to finally migrate my Minecraft mojang account to a Microsoft account as the game launcher persistently requested. I am not going to share here the exact emails for privacy reasons, but this is a summary:

    1. My mojang account (bought in 2012) was linked to a gmail email account

    2. During the migration process i used my Microsoft account (hotmail) for the recipient of the game. To clarify at this point that I am the only user of this windows computer and no other microsoft accounts were logged in.

    3. After finalizing the migration, I received the email informing me that my mojang account was disabled that i should use my microsoft account to loging to minecraft.

    And here is were the problems starts, the game minecraft doesnt seem to be assigned to my microsoft account.

    Before contacting anybody i went through the FAQ suggestions, and some tries of my own

    1. Remove all accounts from the launcher and login with my Microsoft account

    2. Completely uninstall the game, and try with different launchers, windows7/8 - windows 10 ....

    3. Try in a different computer with a different OS (linux)

    4. Login into minecraft.net to see the status there.

    5. Even if I didnt do this during migration just in case i created a microsoft account with the email originally linked to my mojang account (gmail), and tried to login with that in all the same places I tried with my original Microsoft account.

    After this and as suggested in the FAQ i opened a ticket with minecraft support, I originally got contacted by chat support and they give me the same advice I read in the FAQ but because I know how helpdesk work I have been very patient and repeated all the steps, remove accounts, reinstallations, etc....in the end I got told that the migrations could take up to 48 hours, at that point i didnt mind to wait, but the 48h past and the situation was the same.

    After I got contacted by support by email following up on my original ticket to see if my problem was solved, and I replied with a summary of what had happened until then and the current situation, then I got again the same advice from the FAQ, still at this point I played along and perform the same steps again providing screenshots and actions taken to support.

    After that I was told that I probably not using the right Microsoft account and to contact Microsoft to help me remember witch account might be........

    I am 100% sure there is no other Microsoft account, this is not an installation error or a user error, this is an automatic migration going wrong.

    I asked from support to confirm on their end or to transfer me to whatever team is equipped to deal with this issue, but the representative stooped answering my emails 2 days ago when they run out of FAQ articles to copy/paste to me.

    Can anybody tell me if the have faced similar issue, and what team do I have to reach to to get this solved?

    I didn't mention it before but originally I also provided the purchase confirmation email from mojang.

    Hi, i'm having a similar issue: i have an account with parental control and i can't go online.

    My parents are ok with me not having any more restrictions, because now i don't need it anymore.

    The problem is that i am the only member in family safety and idk how to change my settings to go online, i tried searching online, but nothing seems to work.

    It may mean that you’re signed in under the wrong account. Kindly check and sign in all of your Microsoft accounts.

    Log out of the Launcher. Log in with your new Microsoft account, not your old Mojang account. Note carefully the labels on the login form.

    Also, try to reinstall the launcher.

    We understand that you are trying to resolve the issue regarding your Minecraft account migration. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

    Considering you have successfully migrated Gmail email domain (Mojang Account) to a Hotmail email domain (Microsoft account). We can check few things in terms of the licenses however to set your expectation, we do not have tools to check on any Mojang to Microsoft account migration details.

    You may try few things here:

    1. Sign into Log in | Minecraft with Hotmail email account. Check if all of the owned in-games and game and world is still listed in there.

    2. Try to sign into Microsoft account | Home with Gmail email account to test if this is not an independent Microsoft Account aside from your Hotmail. This is to test only if the account can possible be a Microsoft account.
      • If successful, sign into Log in | Minecraft with Gmail email account. Check if the owned in-games and game and world is still listed in there. This will tell us if you have two Microsoft account.
    If this does not show anything about your Mojang purchases then we will refer you back to the Mojang Support.
