Fail to verify an email alias, getting "Your email address wasn't verified"

Hi,

1. I have added an alias email to my account and tried to verify it (clicking the "verify" link)

2. From the alias mailbox, I clicked the link to verify

3. Got "Your email address wasn't verified"

Please help to resolve this.

In that case you should try contacting support, this is a community forum, so you will mostly get answers from community members, that cant see the account information

Try to start the process again and try using the link on the same browser where you have already being logged in with the account you are trying to change the alias

Thanks for replying !

I copied the link as printed in the email and pasted it in both Chrome and then Safari (on mac). In both cases I had to complete the login to the Microsoft account (the same account in my new alias) and got the same response

"Your email address wasn't verified

This email address couldn't be verified because the wrong Microsoft account may have been entered. Try signing in with another Microsoft account."

I also tried it in Edge on a Windows machine and I get the same result.

This is the first thing I tried.

Tried it again.

1. I am in the Microsoft account

2. Paste the url from the please-verify email and hit <ENTER>

3. Then I get a dialog to enter the password for the account. I fill it and ENTER

3. Get the same message. The page with the message has a "sign in" on the right side of the page which is strange. If click on the "Account" link I am back to the account page still logged in.
