  1. Factory resetting power up tones

I'm factory resetting my Xbox series X to get it serviced and repaired. However I have to reset it and I am unable to due to the lack of connection between the TV and Xbox, but that isn't the issue. I followed all the steps listed here, https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/hardware-network/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults?WT.mc_id=EML_DeviceTracker_EN-GB_Z2A_RepairTicketCreated_ROW

I'm currently on step 7 using the USB method but I don't hear any power up tones whatsoever. I hear a tone when I press the link and eject buttons but that's it. I have followed the steps completely up until then.

I have done all the steps multiple times and it still doesn't work? Should i write a note saying that I was unable to reset it and asking if they could do it when they service the console? How am I even supposed to do step 10 if it isn't displaying on the TV?

    :)

    Factory resetting power up tones

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Thank you so much for the detailed information that's totally fine if we can't perform it due to the current situation. You can then simply change your password as an assurance that your account will be signed out on your console.

Yes, a note will do as well.

xbox series x turns on but no image, then turns off 1 minute later

I just tried a factory reset, but unfortunately, there is no second power-up tone. Same as before, i get no image and the console turns off after 1 minute.

    Hi there,

in a situation like this it's best to try a Factory Reset (this can be selected with keeping Games and Apps installed). Please try if the steps on this link work to perform a factory reset:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

If that fails, due to the situation that you can't load the settings either then please see the following steps:

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug the power cord back in.
    4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
    5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.
    7. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    8. This should show a menu with the option to factory reset the console, if it does not please try the steps again

If a factory reset doesn't fix the issue then it's best to contact Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
    http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

    The dashboard won’t load

I’ve reset it multiple times, but I can’t even get to settings to factory reset it.
    Hello!

    Try this following steps:

    1. Press and Hold the power button for a few seconds until the console fully shuts down.

    2. Next you want to press and hold the sync button on the left side of the console as well as the EJECT button on the front of the console.

    3. Then tap power button and you'll hear one power up tone, hold the two buttons until you hear a second power up tone; they're a few seconds apart .

    4. After that you should be on factory reset screen.

There yo can reset the xbox while keeping your games and apps of you can fully wipe the console! Take careful! and this to check this link as well : https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

    Thank you so much!

    May update broke my xbox

    Hi there,

please try if you can do a factory reset via the settings (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults), if that fails try
    these steps:

    1. Make sure the console is fully powered down.
    2. Press and hold the BIND button and the EJECT button and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
    3. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    4. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.
    5. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. When executed properly it will show a menu where you can select a factory reset.
When doing a factory reset you can choose the option to keep Games & Apps installed, so you shouldn't have to redownload those.
