    Factory reset via USB Xbox one s Help


    I have an xbox one s that I need to factory reset via USB due to the HDMI out port being broken.

    I have followed the instructions - hearing the two power up tones in the timeframe given but on release of the bind and eject button (after the two power up tones) I hear the power down tone.

    Does this mean that the reset process has failed and I should try again or is this part of the reset?

    I can't check progress as there is no way I can get the hdmi to give a picture on tv

    One S will not stay in Instant On power mode

    OK Factory reset (keep games and apps), and a manual update via USB solved the issue. Think the migration from XBOX ONE to ONE S was the issue. So far so good.

    One S will not stay in Instant On power mode

    OK Factory reset (keep games and apps), and a manual update via USB solved the issue. Think the migration from XBOX ONE to ONE S was the issue. So far so good.

    It appears there is a connection issue, make sure the usb is actually connected .
    Actually, once I got the controller to connect I was able to reset via the troubleshooting menu. It's working now. Thanks for everyone's answers.

    Might start a new post and post more details. Sounds like your hhd is failing or have somthing in the fan
