Factory Defective Xbox One S

I'm hoping to get some help deciding what to do with my Xbox One S because at this point I'm pretty confident I've tried everything.

I bought my Xbox One S about two years ago (warranty period is now over) and ever since its always given me problems with gaming. I used to just brush it off as Microsoft would send out an update soon and things would work themselves out but now that the
pandemic has really emphasized how bad it is, I want to do something about it. It constantly has crashed during a multitude of games I've bought (all downloaded digitally) including:

- Never able to run The Witcher 3 past the home screen
- Crashed every 45 minutes playing Forza 7 (offline nonetheless)
- Let me get about 50% into Far Cry Primal to which it froze and has never let me progress any further
- Could never load up Fortnite past loading screen without crashing past about Season 2
- Never could get more than 1 game in succession in COD warzone without crashing mid game
- Now won't even let me download APEX Legends without stopping download for WIFI reasons even though the other devices in my house have no problem with the WIFI ( I also ran diagnostics and Xbox says the Wifi is good)

At this point I've literally tried everything. Hard Resets a million times, cleared my cache a million times, changed MAC address, manually changed the DNSS server, deleted and redownloaded every single game I have as to smooth over any corrupted files,
have factory reset the xbox while keeping my games and have also now factory reset it while deleting all my games and every piece of data on it and still problems persist to this day. Today I even drove 45 minutes to the only Microsoft store within a 100 mile
radius of me just to find out they are shutting down all their in person stores for good?

At this point I'm pretty confident my Xbox is just snakebitten I'm not going to get anything out of Microsoft and will just end up buying the new PS5 but feel like I should be able to do something right?

Hi,

I've thought about doing that but from what I've read online here in these forums, people that send their stuff in to Microsoft to get repaired often get it back and find their problems still persist. If I'm completely honest, I'm pretty done with my Xbox
One S I'm pretty sure it's cursed lol. I'm sort of hoping I can get a refund or store credit or if it comes to it, just trying to sell it online and moving to PlayStation. Between the inability to actually speak to someone from Microsoft Customer support and
now Microsoft just straight up closing all their in-person stores makes me not want to sink any more of my money into it.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are having issues with your console. It sounds like the hard drive could be failing. Have you thought of getting the console repaired even though it is out of warranty? You can go to

device support to set up a repair.

Is the console updated to the latest version of the system?

try clearing your cache by holding down the power button on your console for about 10 seconds.

It will shut down.

Reboot afterwards.

If that didn't help, try restoring factory settings and see if that did the trick.

Factory defect if you bought the controller recently I suggest that you go where you bought it and get return it under warranty to get a new one.
