    i recently bought a xb1 S on cyber monday sales and got it shipped to my country in mid DECEMBER 2017. i was happy that i had something good in my hands but little did i know what a mess xb1 wifi is. i chose an xb1 S over a PS slim 1tb my xb1s is 500gb.
    only if i had searched about the wifi connections of this rubbish machine i would have opted for ps slim.

    but whats done is done the fact is that microsoft does not give a rats ass to the problem they wont admit and that is they have an extremely pathetic wifi antenna inside the machine. constant connection dropouts when the router is placed in the same room!!
    fluctuating download speeds and that too that never reach my full bandwidth! and i am sick of it. i had a months access to EA and still i have not downloaded a single game bcz of this issue the speeds are so slow even the cell phones download faster than this.

    Microsoft is not bothered to admit that its a hardware issue and no matter what they say that this update will fix this or fix that its all a lie and i am really regretting the chance to buy that ps slim. i mean seriously so many complains so many posts
    and all they say try changing the power on mode for gods sake wake up!

    this is beyond pathetic service this is ****

    Why does my Xbox one s keep disconnecting from the internet and other devices don't?

    I'd really like some help please. My Xbox one s keeps disconnecting from the internet which is extremely annoying in online games. All other devices work perfectly on our wifi, so it can't be that. Help me please!

    Have you ever thought about or considered getting a decent ISP? It really makes a difference. I’ve never even once, and I mean never lost a connection with any console ever. Games download lickity split too.

    Have a look at different ISP’s available and see if any are an upgrade. Sometimes if you’re in the countryside there aren’t that many options so you’d be out of luck there.

    Ok , reporting in.

    Quite frankly i give up and i am probably going to take it back at the weekend for a refund. Tried all the above, im in no position to try on another network currently and have given up on the machine.

    I have just spent the past hour going through all suggestions, redoing them, checking my internet speed along the way, at each attempt, never went below 63mb on my PC, and tv speedtest and netflix were in the 40s (wireless).

    Xbox...9mb. pathetic.

    Further testing..upstairs xbox one s, wifi, 58mb d/l. xbox one x downstairs, wifi 8mb

    Move xbox one x upstairs to test..d/l 8.5mb, plug xbox one s downstairs so they are both running, downstairs 58mb on the one S.

    Once again appreciate all the suggestions though, it gave me some hope :)

    check your internet download speed and if its below 2 MB/s then that's probably the reason if not then are you connecting by Ethernet or wifi if you are connecting by Ethernet and have a download speed above 2mb/s im unsure but if you have a download speed
    of above 2mb/s and connecting using wifi you may be too far away

    Xbox one. and yeah Its on the 5ghz signal.
    You will probably not be able to get a much faster wireless download speed on the console due to it only supporting the N standard WiFi and not the not the newer faster AC standard as on the Xbox One S.
