EXTREMELY Loud Whine Coming From Xbox About a Minute After Power On

I have scoured the forums, the internet, youtube, called customer service for an hour, and still my issue has not been seen before. Basically, every time my console is turned on, an extremely loud whine starts about a minute later and does not stop until
the console is turned off. And it is so loud it can be heard throughout my entire house. But before anyone comments asking, "Are you sure it's from the Xbox? Have you tried unplugging it and then waiting for a minute?" Yes. Yes I have.

The woman on customer support who I talked to told me that I need to go to an xbox repair store and spend $150 minimum to get this fixed, but there is a good chance they won't be able to fix it and I'll need to buy an entirely new console. I would much rather
fix this problem on my own, but I need to know what the actual problem is. Also, this is not a coil whine, or at least is not like the 30 or so coil whines I have heard when looking through youtube for a solution.

Please help.

The whine could be coming from a number of things. Do you have a disc in the drive? It could be the disc spinning or mechanisms in the drive tray. It could also be an issue with the cooling fan. Is this an Xbox One, One S, or One X?

And honestly, I would recommend repairing through the service center. I've had very good experiences when I've needed repair for my devices. At least reach out and directly talk to a

Device Support agent and see what they say about what they can do with repairs. I would not recommend attempting the repairs yourself. I would normally not recommend that, but in this case I would extra not, as to identify what's making the noise you'd
have to have it running while taken apart, and then find a replacement part, which for the physically moving parts, that's likely custom and not a standard item you can buy.

So please checkout the options at the
Microsoft Devices Support page and talk to an agent there to see what your options are.

Is it a loud 'tone'? Is it annoying?

It's unlikely to be coil whine as that typically only occurs when a system is being pushed, not when it's on a low power mode.

Coil whine isn't related to system fans, the whining noise comes from power passing through a transformer or conductor.

The buzz sound, printer like, is intermittently when starting up in the menus and stable during the game phase, mixed with the noise of various fans (not so loud but approaching
the ear I feel it clearly). I don't know if it's normal in all One X, for me it's Coil Whine.

This could be from the power supply as most coil whines come from power supplies. In the xbox one X the power supply is inside the console and is not accessible. I would suggest a repair if this is something you can not stand/is too annoying.

Also, don't use surge protectors or UPS power supplies as that could cause this if the console isn't getting the proper voltage. The xbox one X power supply has a surge protector built in.

Sorry to hear about the noise issue. If you think it is coming from the Xbox One power supply, unplug the power supply from the wall and the console and let it sit for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, try plugging the power supply directly into the wall instead
of the power regulator.

I hear a loud buzzing noise too, yet it is not coming from the Xbox 360. I thought it was, but it was not. It is coming from the power supply.
