extreme confusion regarding Microsoft Hello Pin (new account: Never had one)

With regards to your concern, are you somehow referring to the Windows hello pin? Or does it indicate something like Windows hello pin?

As this could be in the settings of your PC if it suddenly asks for one when you didn't even set it up. But no worries as there are ways to remove it or change it if you prefer to retain it.

Try going to Start or press the Windows key on your keyboad > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello PIN > I forgot my PIN and then follow the instructions.

Never had pins vanish Cloud. Thats a new one on me.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues logging in to a different computer and you're being asked for a PIN.

If the option I forgot my PIN is available, select it and follow the instructions to reset your PIN. If there are multiple accounts on the device, choose the one you need to reset. This option is only available for Microsoft accounts, not for local accounts

If the option I forgot my PIN​​​​​​​ is not available, you must sign in with your password and then reset the PIN from the Settings app. Select Sign-in options and then select Enter your password

You can also use the Settings app to change your PIN.

In the Settings app on your Windows device, select Accounts > Sign-in options or

Select PIN (Windows Hello) > Change PIN and then follow the instructions. You must enter your old PIN in order to change to a new one

If you forgot your PIN, select I forgot my PIN and follow the directions to verify your account and create a new one

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues logging in to a Microsoft account that requires PIN. If you did not set a PIN on your account, you may disable the hello sign in. Follow these steps:

- Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Input options.

- Scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set it to disabled.

- On the Windows Hello PIN (above), click on remove. This will remove any PIN saved on Windows Hello for the account.

- If it asks for a password, confirm your Microsoft account password.

- Restart your computer.
