Extra subtitles for on screen text

I just rented MIDWAY on my xbox and every time the film has on screen text subtitles pop up. Its extremely distracting. Is there anyway to stop it? Closed captioning and subtitle options in app dont work.

but where do you find the subtitle if its in japanese (the text)

Completely correct. The same game, same setting (I never need to touch the game setting, and all Xbox have the same language setting), but default shows Chinese text and subtitles on Xbox 360, but default shows Japanese text and subtitles on Xbox One X.

The game is always in japanese audio cannot be change in English and the text go to setting and the subtitle should be on "On".

I've only noticed it with in-game text, and only with "on-the-fly" text, like subtitles, menus... Basically text that is subject to change. I tried switching the resolution down to 720p, but in all honesty, it not only didn't help, it actually seemed to
occur more (though it's always kinda random).
