External Messages on the Xbox

EA's "wonderful" "customer support" team is supposed to be sending a verification code to my Xbox account. However, I haven't received any messages despite their alleged attempts to send it. I have changed all of my privacy settings to allow all forms
of communication (even video chat just in case). Is there some additional security options I have to change to receive a message from a game publisher to my xbox account? Where would such external messages appear on the account (nothing appears in the Xbox
conversations menu)?

you'll have to take this up with EA. to my knowledge they can't send messages through the xbox messaging system.

It sounds like this is on EA's end. What's the message for exactly? Have you checked you spam folders?

I'm 90% sure the problem exists between a keyboard and a chair somewhere in the bowels of EA. I'm trying to get them to help me with an issue from my xbox account being linked to an EA account, so they want to verify that I actually own the xbox account.
They're allegedly sending a message with a verification code directly to my xbox account (not my email).

The xbox message system has a spam folder? Where is it at and how do I look at it?

Fantastic, EA's standard method of verifying xbox accounts is actually not possible. If you'd told me that 4 weeks ago, I would have been skeptical. At this point, I suspect that their "customer support" staff are actually poorly programmed if/then statement
bots.
