    External HDD issue

I recently connected an external HDD to my series X. The console formats and detects the drive just fine yet when i power the system on it won't connect to the network. I'm using a wired connection, have tried resetting the console and the router, have formatted the HDD on my PC and yet when i unplug the drive it all works just fine so why is it doing this?

The HDD in question is a WD black one 12tb that has xbox branding on it.It used to work and now all of as sudden when i plug it in the network is disabled. Yet when i unplug it the network works just fine.

    :)

Do you have available any External HDD? If you have you can try to find if is a hardware issue in the Internal HDD by installing the games in a external hdd.

    Tried it.

    Also tried...

    Resetting but keeping old settings

Restting but not keeping old settings

Changing both the data and power cables to the drive

    Resetting the router

Formatting the drive on my PC and reconnecting the drive incase of corrupt files

As i said the drive works fine and is detected by both windows and xbox just fine but when i use it on the xbox the network is disabled yet when i unplug the drive everything works as normal.

The drive is a western digital D10 12tb which has xbox branding on it. it used to work up until the other day when i switched the console on with the drive connected and it wouldn't connect to the network.

Do you have the possibility to test if this happens by connecting other USB devices to the console or another external HDD/SSD?

    External HDD issue

    I sort of fixed it.

If I have the expansion card plus the external HDD in it has the issue if I use one of pr the other it's fine. It only does when using all 3 together it might be a software bug as all 3 devices are working perfect.

    Hello!

I'm a Independent Advisor. I will be glad to help you.

    Go to Settings>System>Console Information

    And restart keeping your games.

Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.

    Best regards
