You can try connecting it to a Windows computer, and reformat it as NTFS. Then, you can plug it back into your Xbox and see if it will reformat the drive again so it's usable.

    Hey there Youri!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this problem dealing with your new external harddrive.

At this point I would say that it's either the console or the external harddrive.

To cover our bases from a console standpoint, I would suggest what we call a soft reset of the console. It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games
or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games & apps.

Just follow the steps here on
How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
    for that.

It might help to try another external harddrive to see if that is picked up by the Xbox.

If the console refuses to read any external harddrives, then that might be a symptom of a hardware issue that might need to be serviced.

    Hope this information was helpful

    Thanks for reading!

Right well my problems still haven't been fixed I have now also contacted seagate for help, but I haven't gotten a reply in a week. I don't get called by them what so ever. This is the email I wrote I hope mabey someone else can help me out.

Hello mam/sir, Last month I bought the seagate external storage 2tb for the xbox one. It was al working fine untill one morning I woke up and the xbox wasn't detecting my seagate anymore. All my games were moved to ready to install and when I went to check
the storage on my xbox the seagate wasn't there. So here are all the steps I've done to try and resolve my issue.

    1. Online people were talking about reformating the storage. I tried doing this through my PC (windows 10), but this didn't work. I went to disk management on my PC and it says the seagate isn't initialized. Well before this I actually got an error. It said
Cyclic Redundancy Error. I wasn't able to get this fixed. I also can't seem to initialize the seagate since this option is grayed out and is unable to be clicked on.

    2. I tried to use the seagate tool for windows app. Which let to something strange. The app detects my seagate, but it takes a while scanning the device. I was able to use the short DST test, but whenever I click on the short/long generic test I suddenly
hear the noise the PC makes when you unplug a USB from your computer and then it says long generic test FAIL. Seconds later I hear the noise the PC makes when you plug a USB back into your computer.

    3. I tried doing all of this on a different and better computer which didn't help anything.

    4. I also tried replacing the USB 3.0 cable of the external hard drive. This also didn't help.

I myself am not a computer masterminnd, but I have tried all I could to resolve this issue. It wasn't the cheapest thing ever. So I hope you could help me out with my issue. I attached somescreenshots of all the errors i've gotten. This is the second time
I messaged I didn't get a reply the first time. Hope to hear back from you guys soon.
